Research Assistant (RA) - Winter 2027 - Genetic Analysis Center - Biostatistics (Student/ASE)
Description:
The Genetic Analysis Center (GAC) in the Dept. of Biostatistics at the University of Washington has an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant (RA) to participate in the Coordinating Center (CC) for a new NIH/NHGRI-funded research network, the Population Genomic Screening (PGS) Network. The PGS Network will develop and implement a pilot of population-based genomic screening that (1) selects high public health impact conditions (such as hereditary breast and ovarian cancer, Lynch syndrome, and familial hypercholesterolemia), (2) takes place in primary care settings, and (3) integrates patient, provider, and other community perspectives via robust engagement. The CC supports piloting genomic screening in primary care settings by helping to establish a screening protocol, managing the Network’s data, sharing best practices, and providing comprehensive logistical and administrative support to the Network. The RA will contribute to the ongoing development, documentation, and implementation of CC procedures in support of the Network’s scientific goals. The RA will also generally support the CC project manager and faculty investigators on relevant operational tasks. This position is appropriate for graduate students in the School of Public Health with an interest in public health genetics, collaborative consortium science, and/or implementation science.
