Diversity Committee seeks staff nominations

Tuesday, September 13, 2016

The School of Public Health has a standing Diversity Committee of students, staff and faculty from across the Departments. This committee works to foster a diverse, inclusive, engaging, challenging, and supportive social, intellectual, and scholarly learning environment. The current charge of the Committee is to develop and advocate for policies and initiatives that will improve the diversity of the SPH community.  The Committee reports to the Dean of the School of Public Health and is responsible for mobilizing students, staff, and faculty to support and implement policies and initiatives.

We currently have vacancies for staff members on the committee and are seeking nominations.  Your input is invaluable, and it is extremely important that we have a committee that can represent the diverse voices of our School. Meetings take place monthly, with some additional work outside of meetings.  Terms are for 3 years.

Please email Laura Rutledge if you are interested in serving on the committee or would like to nominate someone.   Nominations should include title, department, and a brief statement (one paragraph) about how you (or the nominee) can contribute to creating a diverse environment in the SPH. The deadline for nominations is September 9, 2016.  We look forward to hearing from you.  Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
